What is beyond space? Is it God?

If one tries to answer your first question with the help of the wisdom percolated out of Vedas, it can be explained as follows: Vedas use two expressions as “Sat” and “Asat” and according to it, only Sat exists in the universe. Sat is “essence” and essence remains. Essence can be better termed in a scientific context as “energy” and energy, we know, remains, it cannot be destroyed. The opposite of Sat is Asat which is “devoid of essence.”

We know that, it is through an explosion of energy (Big Bang), our universe was created which is said to be constantly “expanding” and this expansion is scientifically said to cause what we call “Space.” Perhaps our universe can be better expressed as “a giant ball of mighty energy” which keeps changing its forms creating and destroying what it has been creating and destroying endlessly forming a “cycle” in the form of all physical things, suns, moons, galaxies and many more which are beyond our comprehension. According to Vedas, these can be termed “Asat” and they “manifest” and “un-manifest” where as what causes them to manifest and un-manifest—which is energy—remains. It is said that what causes all the living beings to “propel on their own” is as a result of Sat (energy) that pervades inside them and when it is “moved out”, the body becomes Asat and then un-manifests.

Therefore based on these “findings” of Vedas, we can say that what exist “all over” be it, “in the space” or “beyond space” is covered by “Sat” or “the pervading energy” which is engaged in the cosmic dance of changing its forms by creating and destroying, in a cycle. Vedas also deal with yet another question; “Was there a state where Sat or Asat; both did not exist in universe?” (Vedas use the expression “Brahmn” instead of universe because in Vedic concept, universe resides in Brahmn which according to Vedas is “conscious” all by itself). It calls such a state as “nASat” and explains its details in what is called, “nAsadlya sUkta” in the form of hymns. “Suktas” are verses of hymns that explain complexities in detail. Strange, is it not so?

Well, now about God, the second question. It depends on what you consider as God because the concept of God is very “personal” and based on “faiths” and “beliefs.” If you think that He is “out there,” He is there where as if you think that it is the “Sat” or energy that pervades inside you, He is here and inside you! And if you yet believe that “energy” is everything and everywhere or omnipresent and omnipotent including as its “iota” inside you, He is everywhere as the “Almighty!”
