“Asato mā sad gamaya,
Tamaso mā Jyotir gamaya,
Mṛithyo mā Amṛtaṃ gamaya.”
is a “Mahavaya” or canonical grand pronouncement taken out of “Brhadaranya Upnishad” and it is translated as:
“Lead me from falsehood to truth,
Lead me from darkness to light,
Lead me from Death to immortality.”
Upanishads are commentaries of Vedas and they say that “Agyanata” or ignorance is the cause of all miseries and the one who pervades in ignorance is equated to ‘dead!’ The above lines invoke mans’ inborn, embedded desire to know the “truth” that wipes out all ignorance and leads him to immortality. It is in this context, Arjuna is called “Partha,” the one who is in search (pa) of truth (Arth).
WOW Factors essentially is a learning organization and without infusing the light of knowledge, illumination of learning cannot be attained in order to dispel the darkness of ignorance and save man from the miseries of failure.
Knowledge dissemination therefore is lighting a lamp with a lit lamp! A knowledge disseminator in Sanskrit therefore is called “Guru,” or that which dispels the darkness! and a pupil or knowledge seeker is termed, “Lagu!”
Helping a Lagu to learn is actually helping him to learn “How to become light” and we get them in all forms; sometimes a nursery kid, a professional, a civil servant or even a CEO.
Affectionately.
